As dog owners everywhere revel in their scenic autumn walks, it is important to be aware of any potential dangers that this season may also bring.
Alabama rot, or Cutaneous and Renal Glomerular Vasculopathy (CRGV), is something that all dog owners should be aware of, due to its potentially fatal consequences for their canine companions – especially as we head into autumn/winter, when cases are more common.
It's worth pointing out that only a small number of cases have been seen throughout the UK – with thousands of dogs being walked every day – so the threat is very low. Nevertheless, it's a good idea for owners to be clued-up on the disease and symptoms.
